PTI FEBRUARY BLOGHOP

Welcome to my blog. I am so excited for this month's bloghop. Our challenge was to create something that had a spring feel. I loooove spring colors, pastels all the way. I wanted to get a start on my Easter projects. I am finally learning to get started early, that way I am not frantically trying to finish up projects the night before. I searched through my stamps looking for an Easter egg, all I had was a teeny one from PTI. I recently purchased the oval nestabilities and light bulb, just decorate the oval and it all came together.

My little "egg box" is actually the box from Lauren's Timeless Template stocking stuffer. I had to make the bottom of the box 2 inches and cut down the sides I think an inch on each side to make it fit the egg. I found this super cute carrot "egg" at the Dollar Store. I added some Starburst jelly beans, but I don't think you can see them. They are soo good. We have managed to eat quite a few already.

I really had fun making this project, it didn't stress me out!! I know this shouldn't give me stress, but you would be surprised what gives me stress. I am so happy with how all the colors just compliment each other, thanks Papertrey for such fun colors.
Can't wait to drool over everybody's creations tonight. Enjoy the HOP.

Supplies:
Cardstock - Lemon Tart, Aqua Mist, Berry Sorbet, blush pink.
Stamps: Polka Dot basics, mixed messages (Easter Blessings), borders and corners monograms edition, little flower from beautiful blooms

Glossy accents added to polka dots to give it dimension

Miss you Grandma Sally

This card makes me smile. My Grandma Sally has been gone a year this week. She was a special, classy, and elegant lady. My family and I were fortunate enough to buy and live in her house. I inherited her sewing machine. I was playing around with it this afternoon and found this gorgeous little flower stitch on it. So this reminds me of her. Classic and elegant. Miss you Grandma Sally!!

Supplies
Cardstock: Plum Pudding and Lavendar

Envelopes

My favorite thing about blogging is the ability to share info. I love making the little 3 x 3 cards with scraps, but didn't have any envelopes to put them in. After a little searching, I found this great reference at Scorpal.

If I could ever figure out this link thingie, instead of copying and pasting. Any tips? Haven't had a chance to make any, but hopefully soon.

CPS PAPERTREY STYLE

Papertrey is sponsoring another sketch over at Card Positioning Systems (CPS). Below is the sketch

I meandered a bit off the sketch. I used designer paper and decided not to use the middle section.

My photog skills, excuse my language, but they suck! This card IRL is really pretty. This pic makes it look blah!

My troops have ALL had the flu this weekend, I am the only one not yet infested. Wonder when it is my turn?

SUPPLIES
Cardstock: Dark chocolate, raspberry fizz, and a stray piece of turquoise I had laying around
Stamps: Birthday basics
Ribbon: Raspberry fizz

My first challenge with Sara's Creative Adventures. Sara, another PTI fan, has put together fun color challenges with PTI's fab colors. This week was Berry Sorbet, Blush pink, and Dark Chocolate. Being a pink fan, I had to play. Pink and I go waay back. I was a fan before it was a "cool" color. My bedroom in 1987 was blush pink!! Thanks Sara for a great color challenge.

Stamps: Flower Garden, Out on a limb sentiments
Ink: Blush pink, Berry sorbet, and Dark Chocolate.
Ribbon: Dark choc, dotted berry sorbet and blush pink.

Ocean Tides Flower Garden

How about that, 2 posts this week, I'm on a roll. I just want to thank you all for stopping by. I had no idea this blogging thing could be such fun. Stampers really are generous and caring people. Big hug!! This card took a turn from what I originally intended, but I am pleased with the final result. Out on a limb sentiments are so fantastic, so uplifting.

Supplies:
Ocean Tides, Dark Choc
Flower Garden and Out on a Limb sentiments
Stickles and button from my Grandma Sally's stash

Flower Garden

I was trying to get a jumpstart for the PTI Bloghop on February 25 (right around the corner) and luckily everything was coming together so easy, I managed to get 4 cards made. Yeah me!!!! I also did some reorganizing of the craftroom dungeon, which totally helps the creativity when you can find what you need. Now if only I can address the rest of the house in that manner. I hadn't used Flower Garden in a while, had to give it some love. I admire all the stampers out there who have mastered the masking technique, mine has something to be desired, but practice makes perfect, right?

Supplies: Lemon Tart, Berry Sorbert Cardstock

Carsyn's Valentine box

Had to share my daughter's first Papertrey experience. We had to make her Valetine's box for her school party. At first she was in charge of punching out the hearts, but then decided it was more fun to stamp!

I apologize for these horrible pics. I think my camera is dying. I have my eye on a Canon, but trying to save some $$$$$.

I have to pat myself on the back for this. I had absolutely no template to follow, I made it on my own. Carsyn was thrilled with it, which made me happy. A couple of years ago I tried making a Barbie cake that uses the upper portion of the Barbie stuck on a dome cake. Well not so great. She asked for no more homemade cakes!!!! So luckily it passed. Eek what we won't do for our kids!!!

Teacher Valentine gift

My daughter is in 2nd grade and I thought I would give her teacher a stationery/gift card set for Valentine's. All of these lovely colors are, of course, Papertrey. Berry Sorbet, so springy. This is one of Lauren's Timeless Templates, (desktop organizer) and from last month's release the Simply Stationery. Papertrey makes gift making a breeze. Everything coordinates so well. I think this went together probably in an hour total, little here and a little there, but looks like an expensive boutique gift.

Here is another looksie at the cards for the box.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Bitty Dot Challenge PTI

Papertrey Ink is having a celebration with their 2-year anniversary. Every day on Nichole's blog are fantastic new reveals of their upcoming products and fun challenges. It has been so fun.

I was having a little card-maker phobia this week, intimidated by all the talent out there with these challenges; however, a super sweet gal on the forum reminded me this is a not a card beauty pageant, just put it out there already!!!

Scallop mania

Ok everything I have touched this week has included a scallop. I will try to break free. It is kind of like the polka dot thing, I am just drawn to them. I really can't believe Valentine's is around the corner, didn't I just put the Christmas tree away? Well this just puts me closer to spring and summer, yeah. I am totally solar powered.

Valentine Guidelines

Well not really guidelines for Valentine's Day, but on the card. I love the Kraft and Pure Poppy, and vintage cream together.

PTI Rainbow Color Challenge

Another Papertrey Anniversary challenge, using their colors of Pure Poppy, Ocean Tides, Ripe Avocado, and Summer Sun. Not really comfortable with that many colors, but I tried.

Ocean Tides all the way!!

There is a discussion going around on the Papertrey Ink Forum about using PTI colors for paint and decorating. So I just had to share. My Christmas tree and stockings were inspired also by Ocean Tides. Can you say Papertrey obsessed!!!! Any suggestions on drape or curtain color?

Papertrey Anniversary

This is the recipe wrap-up by the uber-talented Lauren Meader. I made it into a clutch purse. Now let me tell you, I would personally carry this purse anytime. Raspberry Fizz out of this world. PTI never ceases to amaze me. I have more to add later, getting kiddos scrubbed and to bed.
While the picture isn't the greatest, this bag is Raspberry Fizz and Vintage Cream. Looks so rich in person.

I don't work that well under pressure, makes me crabby, but I was determined to get this challenge done. My husband has been gone every night for a week, I have an 8 year old and a 1-1/2 year old. While I was trying to get this done, all of the couch cushions ended up on the floor for my oldest daughter's personal mosh pit. My youngest daughter spilled an entire glass of milk on the floor that I didn't think she could reach, a pair of panties in the toilet and it goes on. Mom overload. I always want to take my creations to the next level, but not enough time or a trauma of some kind. I'm sure someday I will just look back and laugh, but tonight not as funny!!! Thanks for letting me vent.
I don't know about anybody else, but this Papertrey Anniversary is spectacular. It is like looking in your stocking every morning when you open up Nichole's blog.

It's Alive

Yes,, I am alive. I haven't been able to play in PTI's blog hop since before Christmas, haven't had a chance to stamp or sew anything or make any candles, well that is about to stop!! We have been redoing the bedroom, taking down wallpaper, texturing the walls, so my time has been ZILCH. I had a chance to clean my stamp room today and it really is true, clutter prohibits creativity. Once it was clean, I had 2 cards done in like 10 minutes, which is huge for me. So anywho, stay tuned, I should have some pictures up soon.
