PTI BLOGHOP BABY!!

My second favorite part of the month with Papertrey ink, after the new releases, is the Bloghop. Just a fun night of paper eye candy!! Our challenge was background building stamps. You could use their fantastic background stamps (I missed out on Guidelines 2, bummer), or create your own, which is what I decided to do. The pic is below is how it started (I stamped it on white just show how it began).

This pic shows the stamps that I used to create my background. I manipulated one of the faux ribbon stamps into a curve. I used my gridded acrylic block to space them evenly. I stamped the circle onto each curve and then decided to layer more circles to cover my previous circles.

Stamped on the new Hibiscus paper.

Finished card. I really had fun creating this background and hope to try it in other colors. Have a great bloghop!

Stamps: Faux ribbon, simply stationery, pond life sentiment

Cardstock: Lemon Tart, Hibiscus, New Leaf

Ribbon from Taylored Expressions, dew drops Taylored expressions.

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge

Dawn Mcvey has issued a color challenge of her own here. What super fun colors (totally Gina colors). I had my trusty new anniversary set (Everyday Classics) in hand and ready to use. So full of spring colors, yeah. Have a great day!!

Supplies
Cardstock: Raspberry fizz, summer sunrise, orange from I don't remember!!!
Stamps: Everyday classics
Inks: Raspberry fizz, summer sunrise, dark chocolate
Embellishment made by Gina, fabric from Wal-Mart, felt and orange button. I used the flower die in the Cuttlebug to cut out fabric and felt and then sewed on the button.

"Vintage" Damask

I have to tell you how much I love Damask Designs stamp set from Papertrey. I was going for a vintage look to this card. I used my Dark Choc ink pad and added a little shading to it. It really would have been great if I would have had a Raspberry Fizz button (hopefully sometime soon?). It is hard to tell in the pic, but the dark choc on the bottom, first I used my Scorpal to put lines on it every 1/2 inch, and then proceeded to fold it on these marks, crumpled it in my hand and then straightened it out. Happy with the end result.

Supplies: Spring moss cardstock, dark choc cardstock, raspberry fizz, vintage cream
Ink: Raspberry fizz, dark chocolate

Monday Challenge

Happy Monday. I hope everyone is having gorgeous weather like we are. We are supposed to make it to 70 degrees today. Beyond thrilled!!

It is time for another Sara's Creative Adventures. The colors are listed below. Eek, this was a challenge for me. Mojo wasn't happening today.

I started off trying to do a sketch, thought it would be easier. Wrong. My first try went in the garbage. I am always too literal with sketches, can't open my mind. I tried showing more of all the colors and that didn't work. My third and final card I ended up keeping, but right before I was finished, I goobered the sentiment. Luckily could hide it under the little flower thingie. Worked hard for this challenge!! Also as I was going through my cardstock, I thought I had a big package of white left, I have 1 sheet left it was a package of the address labels I have been looking for. So good I found them, but bad out of white cardstock after I placed my order already!!

Edit: I even read the challenge wrong, should have used Lavendar Moon. Mondays, Mondays. At least I tried!!!

Supplies:
Lavendar moon, new leaf, spring rain and raspberry fizz cardstock
Stamps: Friends til the end
Buttons i had on hand.

CMWC46

I had a little extra time last week and was able to participate in Papertrey's Casual Midweek Challenge (CMWC), Papertrey forum. Inspired by DT member Lauren Meader's creation found here. It was to make a card of any size, but the regular A2. I think mine ended up 3.4 x 4, make an evelope and envelope liner, and decorate inside of card. After completing this, I realized the design team really works hard to bring us these goods. It is a lot of WORK!!!

One of the new colors from last month, Melon berry, is still growing on me, not my favorite. Colors used include: Melon berry, aqua mist and lemon tart (although hidden under the sentiment, duh). Stamps used were: Mixed messages (small set), polka dot basics in Versamark, beautiful blooms and flower garden for the squiggly line.

Friends Til the End

Again with my photography skills, yuk. It is a dreary weather day so I don't know if that makes a difference either. It looks like Aqua Mist, but is really Spring Rain and Raspberry Fizz. Nice combo IRL. I am hoping to order my new camera this week.

I came across this blog and she has some fantastic photography tips. Hoping to mess around with the settings when I get my camera. Regardless it has to take better pictures than what I am ending up with.

One question for blogland. There was a comment left on my previous post in a foreign language, how do I delete it? It looked like spam. Still new to this blogging world. Any help I would greatly appreciate. Have a good one.

Black and blue

All I want to know is how did it get to be Monday again!! I guess that is what happens when you have a sick husband for 3 days, moved the craft room, and lost 1 hour of sleep, that is how it happens.

Sara's challenge for us this Monday was to use, Aqua Mist, Spring rain and true black. I had a little trouble getting the black in there, not exactly happy with it, but at least I can add 1 baby card to my stash. It was getting low. Not much to say today, kinda brain-dead.

Anxiously awaiting the Papertrey release this week. Favorite part of the month!!!

Sara's Creative Adventures 1 week late!

Better late than never right? Sara's challenge from last Monday was to use, Lavendar Moon, Spring Moss and Blush Pink. I got the base of the card started last week and finished today. Also using my new Friends til the End from PTI, love it. After I stamped my flower, I used Versamark and added some glitter from Martha and Tiny Tots from Taylored Expressions. Pretty happy with the outcome. Good stamping day, smile.

Supplies
Cardstock Spring moss, Lavendar moon, Blush pink

I love fabric, so damask was right up my alley. Even trying to find the "right" fabric in damask for my bedroom. The font from this set is gorgeous. It had everything I wanted, the praying for you and the thank you so much. Thanks for looking!! Come back tomorrow, have one of Lauren's templates to share, fun, fun.
